Virtual Guarding

Virtual Guarding

Everything becomes digitalized and automated. Intelligent video surveillance plays an increasingly important role in property protection. Our virtual guarding was developed from the video remote surveillance service, which allows us to guard smaller sites even without local physical personnel, or larger sites with smaller personnel, more cost-efficiently and without noise.

The beginnings - video surveillance

The images of the video surveillance systems could be accessed even a decade ago. In the classic video remote surveillance, the staff of the station that received the alarm system’s signals could access the images of the cameras and decide whether the alarm was false or real. It was only in the event of a real alarm that an intervention team had to be sent. The camera surveillance systems have been suitable for basic analytical functions for years. These analytics, such as motion detection and motion-detection recording, have improved over the years.

Quiet, noiseless property protection

The cameras of the modern surveillance systems do not only provide excellent images, but also act as sensors. This camera detection is called camera analytics, which not only allows us to improve security, but also helps us minimize our security costs and the size of the security staff. The chances that the person watching the images would detect an extraordinary event on the camera images are slight, but it is no longer necessary. The system signals the crossing of the virtual lines drawn on the camera images as if we had an infrared barrier in each area under surveillance. This virtual infrared barrier does not need to be switched on and off; it switches on automatically every night according to a predefined set of rules, and if a line is crossed, it generates an alarm. The work of the operating staff is much more convenient, as they only have to respond to the pre-set signals.

What factors should we consider?

Virtual Guarding

While insuring the property of companies, it is essential that the area is fenced off, it has an alarm system and a camera surveillance system. There should be a 24/7 security service. Are you certain that permanent personal presence is necessary? This is the first question to be clarified with the insurance company.

Fire alarm

The operation of a fire alarm system requires constant personal supervision or remote surveillance. If the fire alarm system is monitored remotely, on-site presence is not required.

Company regulations

In certain cases, the company regulations may regulate whether or not 24-hour presence is required.

Electricity and Internet

The operation of the systems requires a continuous, stable power supply and internet. If they are not available, or are sabotaged, the object or building may remain unprotected. It is important that our systems have a backup Internet connection and strong uninterruptible power supply.

What tasks can we do differently?

Recording license plates

A much more efficient way to record license plates is to use a license plate recognition system. Unfortunately, human work is expensive and not so accurate.

Visitors’ registration

The local physical guards no longer need to register the incoming visitors; thanks to the self-service system, the visitor can do it himself or herself quickly and easily.

Gate opening

The guards have admission functions in many cases, e.g. they open the gate. Admission can also be semi-automatic, with the help of a GSM gate caller, while the management of the traffic of several gates can be combined at one place using intercoms.

Logical processes

Several processes can be controlled remotely; our most complex remotely controlled job is the delivery and receipt of rental cars. During this task the colleagues performing it are 100 km away.
