Technology and guarding

Guards and modern security technology together deliver a higher level of security – supporting the guards' work and distributing tasks more efficiently.

The most expensive security tool is the one with nothing to do.

Round-the-clock manned presence is the most expensive security measure a site can maintain. Its cost rises year after year, while during most shift hours nothing happens at all – the guard is there, but has nothing to do.

Simply cutting headcount, however, is a risk: if nothing takes its place, fewer people are watching the same area. The question is not “how many guards”, but “what needs watching, when, and by what means at the lowest cost”.

Technology and guarding

  1. 01

    We measure the real workload

We review which shifts, zones and events genuinely require human presence – and where technology is enough.

  2. 02

We identify the hours that can be replaced

Nights, weekends and idle periods usually come first: there a camera and an operator are more reliable than a tiring pair of eyes.

  3. 03

We install technology in their place

Video analytics on critical zones, virtual lines along the fence, central remote monitoring – with a response unit on standby.

  4. 04

    We measure and fine-tune

Data from the digital guard management system shows month by month where more can be reduced and where cover should be strengthened.

What does the service include?

  • On-site security audit and analysis of current costs
  • A proposed guard-to-technology balance with an itemised quote
  • Cameras, video analytics and connection to remote monitoring
  • Remaining guard force under digital shift management
  • Response unit in case of an alarm
  • Monthly reporting to the client, based on real data

What can you expect?

Lower monthly guarding cost

Replaced hours are covered by technology whose running cost is a fraction of manned guarding.

The same or better coverage

A camera does not fall asleep or take a break – blind spots are eliminated during the assessment.

Verifiable operation

Every remaining shift and every event is documented digitally.

Frequently asked questions

01 How much can guarding costs be reduced?

We do not quote a number without a survey, because it would only be a guess. The ratio depends on how many uneventful duty hours there are – the biggest reserve is usually in nights and weekends.

02 Will it be less secure?

The goal is not to remove the guard, but to replace them where technology is more reliable. At critical points that need human judgement, the guards stay.

03 How long is the payback?

Payback depends on the number of replaced hours and the extent of the technology. We calculate it in the itemised quote in advance, so it does not come as a surprise later.
